Malaysia on your doorstep
If you live in or are visiting Singapore, Malaysia is the easiest international holiday you can take. Kuala Lumpur is about an hour away by air, and the land border means you can be in another country without boarding a plane at all. That makes it ideal for weekends, family holidays, honeymoons and spontaneous getaways.
Our packages range from a two night city break in the capital to a five night tour that combines the city, the hills and the islands.

Crossing from Singapore: road, rail or air
By air
The flight to Kuala Lumpur takes about an hour. It is the quickest option for short breaks and the most practical one if you are heading on to Langkawi.
By coach
Comfortable coaches reach Kuala Lumpur in roughly 5 to 7 hours, depending on traffic and queues at the Woodlands Causeway or the Tuas Second Link. A good choice on a tighter budget.
By rail
A short shuttle train links Woodlands with Johor Bahru, where you can connect to Malaysian intercity trains heading north. Check current timetables before planning around them.
Ferry and coach
A ferry crossing plus a coach journey suits travellers who enjoy a flexible, road trip style of travel.
Tip: The land border can be very busy on Friday evenings and before public holidays. You clear immigration on both sides, so keep your passport within easy reach and allow extra time.

Visa and the best time to go
Many Singapore residents can make short visits to Malaysia without a visa, but the rules depend on your passport. Indian passport holders living in Singapore should check whether they need an eVisa or qualify for any visa-free arrangement in force when they travel. See our Malaysia visa guide and confirm current requirements on official Malaysian government channels before booking.
Malaysia is warm all year. March to September is popular for outdoor sightseeing and island tours, while the wetter months of October to December bring cooler, rainy days that some travellers enjoy. Rain falls on different coasts at different times, so check our guide to the best time to visit Malaysia before you fix dates.
