How to tell us about material on this website that you believe infringes your copyright.

Last updated: 18 October 2026

We respect the work of writers, photographers and other creators, and we expect others to respect ours. This page explains how to tell us if you believe material on malaysia-tourism.org infringes your copyright, and what happens next.

Our content

Unless stated otherwise, the text on this site is our own work and may not be copied or republished without permission. Some photographs are used under Creative Commons or other licences, and these are credited on our photo credits page.

Reporting infringement

If you own the copyright in material that appears on this site without permission, or you are authorised to act for the owner, you can send us a takedown notice. We handle notices made under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and copyright complaints made under Indian law in the same way.

What your notice should include

  • Your full name and the details we should use to reply to you
  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
  • The exact page address (URL) on our site where the material appears, and enough detail for us to find it on that page
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf
  • Your physical or electronic signature (a typed full name is acceptable)

How to send it

Send your notice through our contact page and start your message with the words "Copyright notice" so it reaches the right person quickly.

What happens next

We review every complete notice and may ask you for more information. Where a notice is valid, we will remove the material or disable access to it. If the material is a licensed image and your concern is about attribution, we can correct the credit or remove the image, whichever you prefer. Incomplete notices may delay our response.

If you think material was removed by mistake

If content you supplied to us was removed and you believe this was a mistake, tell us through the contact page and explain why. We will review it and let you know the outcome.

Please notify responsibly

Only send a notice if you own the rights or are authorised to act for the owner. Knowingly making a false claim that material infringes copyright may lead to legal liability. If you are unsure whether a use infringes your rights, consider taking legal advice first. See also our terms and conditions.
